Senior Business Analyst – Post trade Tech

 

Hiring Manager : Tushar Kakade – Global head of Debt, Equities and Market Asset

Location: Sheffield

Salary: GCB5 £42,000 - £52,500 - £62,900

Work times: 35 hours a week - 9-5 but there is flexibility e.g. 8-4

Number of roles: 1

This role directly supports HSBC’s ability to run Markets safely and efficiently by improving the technology that underpins:

·       Settlement and post-trade processing - reducing fails, breaks, manual work

·       Operational resilience - moving off fragile legacy systems onto modern platforms

·       Control and risk management - clear traceability, better functional specs, tighter UAT/defect remediation

·       Speed to change - more standardised BA practices, Agile/DevOps ways of working, reusable functional artefacts

·       Global consistency across regions and teams - multi-location stakeholders, multi-vendor delivery

Candidate profile

 

What we’re looking for

Must-have domain experience

  • Fixed Income trading and/or settlements platforms
  • Fixed income products experience (especially securities and derivatives)
  • Strong grasp of post-trade functions in an investment banking context (and awareness of front/middle/back office)

 

Must-have BA delivery capability

  • Proven experience as a Senior/Lead BA delivering front-to-back change in investment banking
  • Strong BA methodology, with structured best practices for defining/tracking requirements
  • Solid understanding of SDLC and multiple delivery styles (Waterfall and Agile) + DevOps/Agile mindset
  • High discipline in documentation standards and version control
  • Ability to work autonomously under pressure with competing priorities

 

Valuable “nice to have”

  • Repo / Treasury product knowledge (FX also mentioned as advantageous)
  • Market connectivity / trading workflows
  • Middleware platform exposure
  • Track record on global initiatives with stakeholders across multiple locations

·       We’re hiring a strong Business Analyst in Sheffield to shape the functional vision, partner closely with the business and technology teams, and help deliver a transformation programme that’s genuinely strategic and long-term.

·       You’ll sit at the centre of delivery: defining requirements and functional specs, guiding UAT and defect remediation, and working across HSBC teams and vendors to land change safely.

·       It’s a great fit if you’ve delivered post-trade change in investment banking, know Fixed Income products and workflows, and enjoy bringing structure, clarity, and momentum to complex programmes. You’ll also have the opportunity to lead and coach other BAs, helping set the standard for how analysis is done across the programme.
