Senior QA Engineer

Swindon / London – Hybrid

We are currently recruiting for a Senior QA Engineer to join our Engineering team at Edenred PayTech.

As a Senior QA Engineer, you will be responsible for testing the functionality and performance of software applications or services. You will also develop and execute test plans and scripts designed to detect problems in software applications and systems services, as well as ensure software applications or systems services meet technical and functional requirements.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop new automated tests to support feature delivery, covering both functional and non-functional requirements

  • Drive continuous improvements in quality assurance processes and practices

  • Ensure adherence to testing standards, best practices, and quality benchmarks

  • Promote knowledge sharing across squads and teams

  • Work as one team to deliver high-quality solutions on time, while developing broader cross-functional capability

  • Take ownership of resolving issues effectively as they arise

  • Assure the quality of new features delivered to the platform

  • Lead the adoption of new testing approaches and continuous improvements to testing practices

  • Ensure software meets or exceeds agreed metrics and quality standards

  • Mentor Junior QA engineers and support their development

  • Proactively contribute to the technical evolution of PrePay’s products

What you will bring:

Essential:

  • Significant commercial experience of testing enterprise level systems that incorporate microservice architectures and web applications 

  • Strong experience in one or more of: TDD/BDD, performance & load testing, security testing, UI & accessibility testing.  

  • Experience with data creation and curation and familiarity with DevOps practices and principles.

Behavioural skills:

  • Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to evaluate complex options and make sound judgments

  • Confidence to influence others, challenge the status quo, and drive improvement

  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to plan work effectively and track progress against deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues and solutions clearly to peers

  • A self-starter mindset with strong problem-solving skills

Desirable:

  • Experience with AWS services

  • Knowledge of JUnit and Cucumber

  • Experience working with XML/JSON

  • Experience working with large databases

  • Familiarity with tools such as SVN, Git, Ant, Maven, Tomcat, Apache, and Jenkins
