The Site Design Planner develops accurate, integrated, and actionable site designs for new Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) data center builds and expansions. This role translates business demand, customer requirements, and infrastructure capacity needs into an executable site and data-hall plan.
A successful team member brings together compute, power, network, connectivity, and physical-layout inputs to create a single source of truth for each site. They use sound judgment to balance customer priorities, infrastructure constraints, deployment sequencing, and available capacity, while driving alignment across planning, engineering, design, delivery, sourcing, and operations teams.
Reporting to the Director of DC Site Design & Planning, this role will:
Convert business demand, customer requirements, and capacity plans into integrated site designs for greenfield data centers and site expansions.
Own the site-design process from initial demand intake through an approved, actionable handoff to Data Center Design and Delivery teams.
Develop data-hall layouts and rack, compute, power, and infrastructure allocation plans that meet customer needs, deployment timelines, and site constraints.
Integrate network capacity, physical connectivity, and infrastructure requirements from partner organizations into a cohesive site plan.
Partner with Networking, Connectivity, Compute, Capacity Planning, DC Engineering, DC Design, Delivery, and Sourcing teams to resolve dependencies, constraints, and design tradeoffs.
Support complex deployments, including AI networking, high-density GPU infrastructure, and multi-plane fabric designs, ensuring site plans account for associated power, cooling, network, and connectivity requirements.
Produce and maintain clear, comprehensive site-design documentation that serves as the approved source of truth for each new build or expansion.
Drive timely design reviews, stakeholder alignment, and leadership approvals; clearly communicate risks, decisions, assumptions, and required actions.
Identify opportunities to standardize and automate site-design inputs, workflows, and outputs; partner with development and tooling teams to improve scale, accuracy, and cycle time.
Use data and judgment to recommend allocation, sequencing, and design decisions that balance customer commitments, business priorities, and infrastructure availability.
